Today, marks 5 years since Cpl Dan Marcellus lost his 10 month battle to brain cancer. Please take a moment during the day, to remember Dan and his family. Especially his wife Jessica and son Sawyer.

A 14-year veteran of the Vermont State Police, Dan was hired at age 21 and dedicated his career to working the road as a trooper for the St. Albans and Williston barracks. He also served his country for six years as an infantryman in the Army National Guard. One of the highlights of his service was a three-month security detail in New York City following the events of 9/11.

“Trooper Dan” was also known for his kindness, sense of humor, storytelling ability and genuine desire to make a positive impact in people’s lives . His antics in the office will never be forgotten, and those who worked with him, will always miss him showing up late to every meeting.
